Description

Decorator is responsible for preparing and decorating cakes to maintain well-stocked cake display cases or fulfill personalized orders. They decorate cakes accurately according to customers’ orders and company guidelines. An eye for detail is required to ensure consistency in all decorated cakes. 

Requirements

  • Previous experience with decorating cakes in a professional work environment  
  • Good communication skills  
  • Food Workers Card  
  • Have reliable commute to work  
  • Physical: Must be able to stand and move around during the day, lift and carry up to 30 lbs. 
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, especially around holidays and weekends 
  • Know how to properly use and maintain bakery machines or willingness to learn how  

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining an active Food Workers Card* 
  • Have a positive attitude towards safety, follow all health and safety regulations and/or policies to ensure the well-being of others and self  
  • Attend work with company provided uniform and have a tidy appearance 
  • Building and preparing cakes according to company policies  
  • Fulfill special cake orders to the specifications of the client  
  • Decorating cakes to fill display cases ensuring it is always filled  
  • Must be able to replicate previous company designs accurately and bring their own creativity to inspire new designs if needed 
  • Using provided technology to check orders, order information, and more 
  • Communicate with managers and coworkers regarding cake orders when needed 
  • Prepare and maintain icing, cream, and other cake decorating ingredients  
  • Check inventory of ingredients and cake decorating supplies to ensure there is enough for day-to-day operations, report to manager if anything is needed
